Job Advertisement for Operations Director

Heartland Symphony Orchestra provides quality experiences for community members in Central Minnesota through performances and educational opportunities.


Job Position:    Operations Director

Reports To:     Board of Directors, President


This is a general office administration position, salaried, part time between 15-20 hours weekly with duties occasionally being accomplished remotely from home



Be responsible for activities as directed by the board

Provide support to Marketing/Promotions Committee

Provide support to paid staff

Provide written reports to the board of directors

Attend monthly board of director meetings

Process financial payments, invoices, code billing for accountants

Maintain audience data base, receipt of donations

Coordinate and complete concert program and ad sales

Coordinate educational outreach programs with schools, board of directors outreach

committee and schedule radio and local newspaper outreach for the conductor

Utilize or be willing to learn various social media, i.e., Facebook, Twitter, etc


Qualifications & Skills:

Possess excellent oral and written communication

Good knowledge of computer, windows 10

Be passionate about the arts and a community orchestra

Non-profit experience a plus but not necessary
