Heartland Symphony Orchestra Seeks New Director/Conductor


The Heartland Symphony Orchestra, offices located in Little Falls, Minnesota, is conducting a search for a Music Director/Conductor. The orchestra is a regional organization, and consists of both professionals and volunteers. The orchestra has a manager, a part-time librarian, and part-time secretary. The HSO is currently completing its 39th season.

Rehearsals take place at the Little Falls Middle School and/or Forestview School in Brainerd on Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The orchestra performs three concert series per year with two performances in each series. Performance venues are typically located in Little Falls and Brainerd, Minnesota, and may include an additional performance annually in one of the communities surrounding Brainerd.

The conductor/music director is responsible to develop and achieve continual artistic excellence of the orchestra. Additional responsibilities include a willingness to support fundraising and other promotional endeavors.

Salary is negotiable and a limited gas/mileage allowance is paid. The Board of Directors is offering a one-year commitment with an option to renew.
